Thank you to Mariana for donating these! I’ve added the scans of Louise’s feature in (and on the cover of) a September issue of Be. She’s been in a couple other magazines recently as well, so hopefully I’ll have more in the future.

Here is a new text interview that Louise participated in for “Un heureux événement” along with director Rémi Bezançon.
Louise was a guest on talk show “Vivement Dimanche” and she was photographed entering and later exiting the studio. Her heart-printed dress is super cute! Take a look at the photos.

Huge thanks to Marine for donating these! I still hope to pick up my own copy since it’s a great little editorial, but we now have in the gallery scans of Louise’s feature with Pio Marmaï in the October 2011 issue of Glamour. There’s an interview, plus a great photoshoot by Ellen von Unwerth.

Louise is one of the confirmed guests for the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival! Her movie “Un heureux événement” will have a gala presentation on September 15th. It doesn’t look like Pio will be going, but director Rémi Bezançon will. Hopefully we’ll get some new photos and the movie will find a US distributor. Read the English language synopsis from the TIFF site below!
Rémi Bezançon’s A Happy Event explores one of the most thrilling, painful, joyful, terrifying and altogether life-changing experiences of any woman’s life: the birth of her first child.
Barbara (Louise Bourgoin), a young graduate student, is madly in love with her boyfriend Nicolas (Pio Marmaï) and deep into writing her thesis when she learns she is pregnant. Reeling from the initial shock, Barbara alternates between excitement and trepidation. Amidst a flurry of congratulations, she tries in vain to conform to the image of the happy expectant mother, but is instead exasperated by the tedious yogic breathing classes, and finds herself complaining to her girlfriend about her suffering sex life.
Once her baby is born, everything becomes alarmingly real. She’s faced with a helpless little being who needs everything from her — love most of all. But despite the support of those around her, including that of her devoted partner, Barbara struggles to connect with her child. Any mother will relate to Barbara’s newborn storm of guilt, exasperation, resolve and sudden eruptions of laughter. Any father will understand Nicolas’ sheer bewilderment.
A heightened visual style accentuates Barbara’s feeling of estrangement and the changes happening within her own body. Bourgoin’s sensitive performance prompts us to experience Barbara’s doubts and fears, as A Happy Event lays bare the complexity of pregnancy, labour and postpartum recovery. The film’s emotional rollercoaster conveys the highs and lows of first-time motherhood, and shows that nothing can really prepare you for the magnitude of bringing a new life into the world.
Also, Louise is on the cover of the upcoming issue of Glamour Magazine with Pio. It hits newsstands in France September 5th. I’m hoping my local bookstore that imports French magazines will have it so I can scan it for you, but in case it’s not, donations of scans are always appreciated!
There was also a premiere for “Un heureux événement” at Angoulême, which Louise attended in the same simple white dress as the photocall, but dressed up with the addition of an updo and a pair of earrings. See the photos!
